just when i think i’ve got something figured out, God decides to do His best dikembe mutombo impersonation, waive his finger at me and say, “nuh uh”

this weekend i decided to hang out with a group of guys that i didn’t all semester and i must say that it’s the most fun i’ve had since i’ve been at college. it was the first time in a long time that i felt welcome and that people were making an effort to make me feel welcome. 

i never realized how much like my dad i am. i find myself talking more and more like him each day. i find that i can now appreciate and understand all of the things that he’s told me and lectured me about in the past. one of my favorite henry lee cliches is “man up and take accountability for your actions” and that’s definitely something people don’t do enough of. be honest and upfront with your intentions and who you are and don’t blame other people for your own mistakes. 

if it’s one thing i’ve learned since i’ve been at college it’s things are never what they seem. don’t assume you know anything.
